Registration

Like many Learning and Development professionals you may be new to your role and still learning, changing your role and need to add skills to meet new expectations. This training event is designed to for new trainers and facilitators who deliver content in face-to-face sessions and virtually.

Participants will learn from local experts how to apply adult learning principles today, and facilitation best practices that can be immediately applied to any type of delivery.  The session will include practice and feedback to leave you feeling confident to nail your next training.

Participants Need to Bring:   
  • Your laptop to use during sections of the T3
  • Training content you have or will deliver (virtual or face-to-face) and select a portion to teach back and practice new skills.  Feedback will be provided to leave you feeling confident to nail your next training.

Learn to apply the following key principles when facilitating your training.

10:30am – 12:00pm       Improving Your Virtual Training Delivery

We will talk about Virtual Facilitation best practices, VILT Industry trends, and Tips of VILT in Adobe Connect. Come to this session equipped with your laptop and be prepared to enter the synchronous learning space.

12:30pm – 1:30pm        Building Effective Relationships & Gain Attention and Interest

Learn to use different questioning techniques to start group discussions and focus participants.  Overcome common participant challenges in both face-to-face and virtual delivery.

1:30pm – 2:40pm          Creating Behavior Change

Learn how storytelling can model vulnerability and build trust. Explore motivational & change management techniques to engage learning and use feedback & coaching during your training to support behavior change.

2:40pm – 2:50pm          BREAK

2:50pm – 3:50pm          Practice & Feedback

Apply learning to your prepared training, teach back to the group and receive immediate feedback to nail the next time you deliver the training.

MEET THE FACILITATORS

Jorie Stickel - Growth Catalyzer

Jorie is passionate about exploring unconventional organizational design and talent development methods that position individuals to actualize untapped potential. 

Based on her belief that people are both inherently gifted and unique, and require different conditions to excel, Jorie crafts talent strategies that catalyze individual and organizational growth.

A proponent of neurodiversity, Jorie believes that neurological differences like autism and ADHD are the result of normal, natural variation of the human genome and should be celebrated.

With a background in People and Culture Development, Jorie advises businesses, organizations and individuals seeking growth on how to maximize individual and organizational talent potential.

Sarah Bear - Alliance Data

Sarah is a Senior Instructional Designer at Alliance Data Card Services and has designed and taught online College English courses for 15 years.

Sarah pioneered in the online teaching environment, learning instructional design principles through these opportunities. She has designed learning opportunities in Adobe Connect for 6 years.

Sarah additionally uses tools such as Articulate 360, Vyond  (GoAnimate), and LMSs to develop programs.

Mary A. Schenck – Central Ohio ATD & American Heart Association

Mary is the Vice President of Professional Development with the Central Ohio ATD Chapter and Talent Development Director for the American Heart Association.

With decades of experience as a talent development professional, Mary helps organizations succeed by assisting teams, leaders and individuals in achieving higher performance levels.

Mary is a Certified Professional in Learning and Performance through the Association for Talent Development and holds her SHRM-CP.
